This year, the region’s Party Committee targets to promote troops’ political stance, raise quality of military and political training and combat readiness, build regularity and a strong Party committee.

In his remarks, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the CMC and Deputy Defense Minister, urged the Party committee and the command to embrace resolutions and directions of the Party, CMC and Defense Ministry on military-defense affairs; pay attention to building the healthy Party organization; and implement the military and defense missions in combination with economic development.
The military region should also perform defense external affairs, ensure security on border areas, and create favorable environment for local socio-economic development, the general concluded.
* Attending the meeting hosted by the Party Committee of Military Region 2, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Don, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the CMC and Deputy Defense Minister, applauded the military region’s task accomplishment last year.
He noted that the military region command should continue to direct its units to improve quality of training and unit building, build a strong whole-people’s defense posture, strengthen troops’ combat readiness capabilities, closely follow situations and team up with local units to give timely solutions to any circumstances.
* At a similar meeting, the Artillery Corps’ Party Committee reviewed the leadership outcomes in 2018 and identified orientations for 2019.
Addressing the event, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hong Huong, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, emphasized the committee’s orientations this year, including building the corps’ comprehensively strong units, improving its troops’ political stance, and directing them to fulfill all assigned missions.
