PANO - The General Department of Military Logistics organized an online meeting, chaired by Lieutenant-General Nguyen Vinh Phu, the Department’s Director, to review logistics in the whole army in 2012, and work out tasks in 2013, on December 27th in Hanoi.

This year, the military logistics has accomplished its assigned missions, ensuring logistics for combat readiness and other routine and urgent tasks, especially for units defending national sovereignty over seas and islands, and for units stationed in key localities.

After reviewing 2012 missions, the General Department’s relevant agencies carried out 2013 missions, focusing on ensuring logistics for combat readiness, routine and urgent tasks, and well building the sector; boosting production; implementing socialization in feeding troops, applying sea water filtering technology to provide fresh water for troops on islands, and developing plans to ensure high quality and stable fuel sources.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Defence Minister, Senior Lieutenant-General Le Huu Duc hailed positive results achieved by military logistics over the past year. He stressed that in 2013, military logistics at all levels should improve their staff work for commanders. Moreover, it should put forward proposals to guarantee logistics for hi-tech war, and building logistics bases in provinces and cities, and logistics channels on seas and islands.
