More than seven decades ago in Khuon Long hamlet of Yen Do commune, the first refresher course for supply officers (predecessor of the Military Logistics Academy) was held. A month later, President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter of encouragement to the course's participating officers.

Later, the day when President Ho Chi Minh sent the letter to the refresher course’s members was chosen to be the academy’s foundation day in acknowledgement of his sentiment to the unit.
