According to Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Dai, deputy director of the department, following the direction of the Ministry of National Defense’s Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control, the rehearsal on June 24 aimed to help the staff at the quarantine facility get used to the process of receiving people to the quarantining facility, the usage of medical protective equipment, and measures to ensure safety and prevent cross-infection.

The practice also targeted to improve the command and coordination capacity of participating forces.

The activity helps raise the participants’ awareness about COVID-19 prevention and control and their activeness and readiness to undertake and complete missions.

After the opening ceremony the participating forces practiced various scenarios, including receiving 30 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients, ensuring accommodations for the quarantined people, promptly handling two cases with high fevers found upon arrival, and one positive COVID-19 case when he/she was under quarantine.

Below are several photos of the rehearsal of the simulated scenarios.
