Reports delivered at the meeting revealed that over the past time, under the leadership and direction of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense (MND), military businesses have carried out the mission of economic development in combination with defense consolidation and their production activities in a comprehensive and effective manner.
Over the past time, many businesses in the military have made great contribution to the State and Defense Ministry budget, contributing to consolidating defense power and modernizing the military.
Delegates evaluated that despite impacts caused by the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, military businesses have well maintained production activities, contributing to ensuring income for workers.
Concluding the working meeting, General Phan Van Giang praised functional agencies of the MND for their timely support and direction to help military businesses overcome challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. They also made recommendations to the CMC and MND to issue guidelines and solutions to raise the effectiveness of financial management and use of capital and State budget.
To raise the effectiveness of production activities of military businesses in the coming time, General Giang asked agencies, units and businesses to accelerate the implementation of a project on structuring military businesses and the equitization following the Party’ and State’s guidelines. Contents related to the combination of the management and use of defense land and economic development should be carried out.
The minister emphasized the need of increasing the leadership of Party committees at all levels over the performance of military businesses.
General Giang emphasized that military businesses should be active, pro-active and creative in conducting their production activities. In the context of the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, they should be more determined to maintain their production activities, contributing to ensuring stable income for their workers.
Together with concentrating all resources on production, businesses in the military should renew technologies, modernize their facilities, raise the effectiveness of investment and effectively use State budget, the defense minister added.
