Injured soldier flown to mainland by helicopter
PANO – A Mi-171 helicopter of Regiment 917, Division 370, the Air Defense - Air Force Service, on January 25 flew an injured soldier from Tho Chu Island to the mainland for treatment.
The patient is Sergeant Danh Hoang Phuc, born in 1999, from Kien Giang province, serving at Regiment 152 of Military Region 9 garrisoned on Tho Chu Island, Phu Quoc district, Kien Giang.
On the morning of the same day, Phuc fell down while repairing the rooftop of a building.
Doctors at the regiment’s infirmary gave first aid to the patient, diagnosed his symptom as severe concussion. The doctors decided the patient should be brought ashore for further treatment.
Receiving the information, Division 370 assigned a helicopter to fly the soldier to Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City.
At present, Phuc is receiving intensive care from doctors at Military Hospital 175 under the Defense Ministry.
