Hanoi to build comprehensively firm whole people’s defense posture
PANO - Hanoi city, on July 14, held a conference, chaired by Standing Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Le Hong Son, to review its implementation of defense work in the first half of 2023.
Reportedly, in the first half of 2023, the municipal People’s Committee focused on directing the whole city to accomplish set targets of the defense and military work in the areas with remarkable outcomes.
Besides, the local armed forces’ synergy was constantly raised while training task was innovated in line with reality. Meanwhile, defense and security education and training was ensured.

An overview of the conference |
Over the past six months, the city launched 197 defense and security refresher courses for more than 21,000 people. It also built 26 standing militia platoons and 27 commune-level military command headquarters.

The capital also directed departments, organs, and localities to promptly implement recruitment work, build the reserve force with high quality, as well as the organization of defensive areas at the commune, ward and town levels.
Regarding orientations for the remaining months of the year, Hanoi will continue to boost leadership capability of Party committees and Party members as well as the State management over defense work. It should also combine socio-economic development with further investment in defense and military sector, and promote the synergy of the whole people’s defense posture in the cause of defending the Fatherland and the capital.

In order to accomplish task requirements in the second half of 2023, Mr. Le Hong Son requested localities and relevant units to continue to strictly observe directions in implementing defense and security tasks, focusing on maintaining combat readiness, ensuring safety during important events of the nation, actively building civil defense plans as well as closely working together in response to natural disasters, among others.
