Notably, the military history work contributed significantly to enhancing political and ideological education, while fostering awareness of this field and revolutionary ethics among officers and soldiers. It also met the research and educational needs of the public and readers nationwide.

Reportedly, 515 military history projects were undertaken, with 240 published. Research efforts focused on analyzing and summarizing key campaigns and battles in the nation’s wars, military and defense missions, and compiling military dictionaries. These outputs have been instrumental in education and training in military agencies, units, and schools.

The Institute of Military History also advised the Central Military Commission, Ministry of National Defense, and leaders of the General Staff on implementing military history and war summary tasks. In 2024, the institute coordinated with various agencies, units, and localities to organize two national-level scientific seminars, three Ministry of National Defense-level workshops, and five sector-level scientific discussions. Preparations for events in 2025 commemorating major historical milestones, as directed by the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, were also underway.

Delivering his speech at the event, Senior Lieutenant General Phung Si Tan emphasized the need for the military history sector to adapt to the evolving complexities in the global and regional landscape. He called for innovative approaches, resilience, and pro-active efforts to fulfill assigned duties and elevate military history science in accordance with the nation’s historical stature.

At the same time, he urged chains-of-command of military units at all levels to thoroughly grasp the Party’s resolutions on science and technology and the role and mission of military history science.
