PANO – The Gia Lai provincial authorities held a burial ceremony on May 14th at Le Thanh International Border Gate for 30 sets of martyrs’ remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists who died while doing international service in Cambodia.

Addressing at the ceremony, Deputy Chairman of People’s Committee of Preah Vihear province Kosun Bun Suot stressed that Party, State and people of Cambodia were grateful to the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and specialists in the struggle for national liberation. The two sides will continue to coordinate to complete the majority of the search, gathering and repatriation of martyr remains.
The martyr remains were collected by Team K52 of the provincial Military Command during the 2015-2016 dry season.
Since 2001, the K52 team has brought home the remains of 1,345 Vietnamese soldiers from Cambodia.
After the ceremony, the remains were reburied at in war cemetery in Duc Co district.
