The event was attended by Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich, GDP’s Director General Luong Cuong and Deputy Directors of the GDP, including Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, Senior Lieutenant General Do Can and Lieutenant General Le Hien Van.

Delivering a speech at the event, General Lich congratulated General Quyet on receiving the noble Party badge. He expressed his hope that General Quyet would continue making contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the development of the military.

General Lich also underscored that General Quyet is a former senior leader of the Party, State and military. He is known as one of the greatest generals in the Ho Chi Minh era. Over the past 80 years as a member of the Party, in any positions, General Quyet showed his consistency and absolute loyalty to the Party, nation and people. He has upheld revolutionary ethics as a Party member and tried his best to fulfill assigned missions while actively sharing his valuable knowledge and experiences to generations of cadres and Party members in the military.

General Lich also expects that younger generations of the military will follow the good example of General Quyet, contributing to the national construction and defense cause and the target for a strong nation, prosperous people and an equitable, democratic and civilized society.

In turn, General Quyet expressed his honor and pride as well as his gratitude to the Party and State and vowed to continue promoting the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, contributing to the Party’s revolutionary cause and the military-building cause in the current context.
