In May, defense agencies and military units effectively carried out Party and political works and completed all routine and unscheduled programs, including dissemination of information about the 12th plenum of the 12th National Party Congress, the celebration of the 130th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, and military and defense activities during Vietnam’s 2020 ASEAN Chairmanship.

Merit certificates given to groups and individuals with good press and literary works

The GDP actively grasped and made accurate forecasts on developing situations, promoted the fight against wrongful viewpoints, and led the country’s efforts against the COVID-19 pandemic and its legitimate rights at sea. It also fought against inimical activities and acts of sabotage by hostile forces against the Party, the State, and the military of Vietnam.

In addition, the department directed military media and press agencies to run more articles on military and defense task performance and international cooperation.

Furthermore, troops showed their high determination to receive and fulfill all assignments, contributing to their units’ task completion.

Highly valuing the great efforts of cadres, workers and soldiers of the GDP’s affiliates in achieving their assignments, General Cuong asked them to continue implementing their missions and making thorough preparations for party congresses at all levels and the 12th National Party Congress.

The GDP’s affiliated units were requested to give recommendations in combating hostile forces’ acts of sabotage, especially in key defense-security localities, while working closely with other military and civilian units to fight wrongful viewpoints and protect the Party’s ideological foundation.

At the meeting, General Cuong presented merit certificates to two groups, including the People’s Army Newspaper, and 17 individuals with outstanding press and literary works on the movement “Studying and Following President Ho Chi Minh’s Thought, Morality, and Style” in the 2018-2020 period, at the Canh dieu (Kite) Awards, and at the 30th National Television Festival.
