GDP Deputy Director promoted to Sr. Lt. Gen.

PANO - State President Luong Cuong, who is also Chairman of the Council of Defense and Security and Commander-in-Chief of the People’s Armed Forces, on December 12 chaired a ceremony at the Presidential Palace to announce and hand over a rank promotion decision to comrade Le Quang Minh, Deputy Director of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) and Secretary of the Party Committee of the GDP Organs.

Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang and GDP Director Sr. Lt. Gen. Trinh Van Quyet attended the event.

Under the decision, comrade Le Quang Minh was promoted from the rank of Lieutenant General to Senior Lieutenant General.

Congratulating comrade Minh on his rank promotion, State President Luong Cuong stressed that it was the honor and pride of officers and soldiers in the whole military and the honor of comrade Minh himself, his family and hometown.

The state leader highlighted Gen. Minh’s firm political stance, bright revolutionary ethical qualities, exemplary role, sense of responsibility, knowledge, practical capability and great contribution to the military building and defense consolidation, contributing to Fatherland construction and defense.

He asked the GDP deputy chief to continue promoting the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army, upholding revolutionary ethical qualities, absolute loyalty to the Party, Fatherland and people, and further train to excellently accomplish all assignments.

State leader Luong Cuong believed that Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Quang Minh and the GDP leadership will continue to give suggestions to the Party, State and Central Military Commission to lead the implementation of military and defense tasks, the building of stronger whole-people defense disposition coupled with the people’s security posture as well as the politically-, ideologically-, ethically-, organizationally-strong military which is absolutely loyal to the Party, State and people.

The GDP leader was also requested to pay attention to building strong and healthy party committees and cells at all levels, helping build a revolutionary, standardized, elite and modernized Vietnam People’s Army in the new period.

In his speech, Gen. Minh expressed deep thanks to the Party, State, Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense, ministries, sectors, departments, and localities. He affirmed that he would strictly embrace the State President’s direction and try his best to achieve all assigned missions.
