GDP chief has working sessions in Dong Thap, Vinh Long
PANO - On November 16, Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) General Nguyen Trong Nghia, leading a GDP delegation, visited and had working sessions in Dong Thap and Vinh Long provinces.

During the working trip, Gen. Nghia inspected the Defensive Area Command Region 1-Long Thuan under the Dong Thap Provincial Military Command. He asked the unit to continue thoroughly grasping and strictly implementing higher-level resolutions, orders, and directives; strictly observe combat readiness regulations; and build a comprehensively strong, exemplary and typical unit. The GDP chief also urged it to continue research and make suggestions to refine working mechanisms to ensure effective performance of military and defense tasks in any circumstances.
The delegation then visited Nguyen Thi Tot Primary School in Vinh Huu commune, Dong Thap province ahead of Vietnam Teachers’ Day (November 20), during which Gen. Nghia expressed his delight that teachers and students now have a modern, safe, and high-quality learning environment. He laid stress on the Politburo’s Resolution No.71 on breakthroughs in education and training development as well as the Party and State’s top-priority policies to support the education workforce. He encouraged the staff of the school to uphold their passion for teaching, innovate in mindset and action, and instill in students the good qualities of Vietnam and Dong Thap in particular.

As part of the trip, Gen. Nghia visited and presented gifts to former GDP chief General Le Van Dung at his home in Phu Tuc commune, Vinh Long province. Gen. Nghia inquired after Gen. Dung, briefed him on major national developments, and the military’s outcomes in military, defense, and Party and political work performance. Expressing deep gratitude to Gen. Dung for his contribution to the nation and the military, Gen. Nghia wished him and his family good health and happiness, and hoping he would continue sharing experience to help the GDP fulfill its mission entrusted by the Party, State, and people.
As part of the trip, the GDP delegation also offered flowers and incense at Go Cong Dong War Cemetery, Go Cong Martyrs’ Temple, and the Monument and Temple of National Hero Truong Dinh in Dong Thap province.
