GDDI strives to complete products bearing brand of Vietnam’s defense industry
PANO - On May 18 in Hanoi, the General Department of Defense Industry (GDDI) held a program celebrating the Vietnam Science, Technology and Innovation Day (May 18) and honoring collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in management, scientific and technological research in 2025.

GDDI Director Lieutenant General Ho Quang Tuan chaired the event.
In recent years, the Party Committee and leadership of the GDDI have consistently identified scientific research, technology development and technology transfer as key drivers for building a proactive, self-reliant, dual-use and modern defense industry.
To date, the department’s science and technology workforce has gradually mastered many core technologies, successfully designed and manufactured various new and modern types of weapons and technical equipment to meet the requirements in training and combat readiness of the military.

In his speech, Lt. Gen. Ho Quang Tuan highly praised agencies, units, science management officials, researchers, engineers, and technicians across the department for their outstanding accomplishments.
He called on Party committees and commanders at all levels to continue thoroughly grasping and effectively implementing resolutions and directives on the development of science, technology, innovation and digital transformation. He also urged them to focus resources on accelerating key science and technology programs and tasks, and to strive to complete major products carrying the Vietnam defense industry brand for display at the Vietnam Defense Expo 2026.
