Division 968 helps locals extinguish forest fire

The blaze occurred at 4.30pm of the day. Upon learning the information, Division 968 immediately sent 400 troops to the scene to coordinate with available forces and locals to extinguish the fire.

After about 30 minutes of fighting, the fire was put out, leaving just more than 100m2 of forest destroyed. This was a pine forest planted on sand; therefore, the prolonged heat waves in the area dried the pine trees which made it prone to fire.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
