Deputy Defense Minister works with Northern province’s border guards
PANO – A mission of the Ministry of National Defense, led by Senior Lieutenant General Le Chiem, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Defense Minister, worked with the Lai Chau provincial Border Guard Command on August 7. Major General Le Thai Ngoc, Deputy Commander of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, joined the mission.

The provincial border guards have well carried out instructions of higher authorities to firmly manage and safeguard national border areas, well implemented border external affairs, gave advice to local authorities to help develop socio-economy, and eradicate hunger and reduce poverty.
Speaking at the working session, General Chiem hailed the provincial Border Guards’ achievements and urged them to continue following all situations to promptly deal with unexpected issues along the national borderline, contributing to building a firm whole people’s border guard posture.
On this occasion, the general planted memorial trees at the Dao San Border Station after offering incense to fallen soldiers at the Lai Chau War Cemetery.
