A patrol session of border troops
Accordingly, units of the Border Guard Command worked with local authorities at all levels to disseminate defense-security information and knowledge to people in border areas. In addition, they actively grasped situations, learnt about the quality of the local political system, and proposed solutions to raising quality of social-political organizations and unions.
The command continued attaching its officers to communes in border areas and sending its Party members to Party cells of hamlets and villages. In 2016, 308 officers and 1,208 Party members were sent to communes in border areas and Party cells of hamlets and villages, respectively.
Therefore, many socio-economic development models were implemented to help local people develop household-economy, eliminate hunger and reduce poverty.
The command also expanded these models in the provinces of Son La, Kon Tum and Tay Ninh.
Besides, border units also provided free health check-ups and medicines for the needy, handed over 289 houses, worth totally VND 17 billion to beneficiaries.
