At the working session

The Deputy Defense Minister asked the command’s leadership to continue embracing and implementing effectively resolutions and directives from the central and local levels and the Ministry of National Defense on combating corruption, smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeits and illegal transport of forest products.

The command was also requested to renew law dissemination-related methods so that troops and local people will find it easier to understand and realize any new laws or changes to existing laws. Besides, the command should take advantage of village patriarchs and mobilize locals to participate in movements on protecting the borderline, land markers, and local law and order.

Noting that the command’s leadership should pay attention to improving troops’ material and spiritual life, General Chiem tasked the unit to create favorable conditions for troops, especially for younger ones, to further study and contribute to the command’s development. He also suggested the command boost cooperation with Cambodian armed forces to ensure a borderline of peace and development.

Earlier, General Chiem paid inspection visits to two border posts, namely Le Thanh International Border Gate and Ia O, both under the Gia Lai provincial Border Guard Command.
