Deputy Defense Minister inspects military units’ task performance
PANO - Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang, member of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Minister of National Defense on April 22 led a Defense Ministry mission to inspect the Border Guard and Military Commands of Long An province, Regiment 1 of Division 330 and Brigade 962 of Military Region 9.

During his meeting with the Long An provincial Border Guard and Military Commands, Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang lauded the results of their task performance over the past time and urged them to continue closely following developments in the local security situation in border areas.
The two units were asked to be active in building and practicing combat readiness plans, improving combat abilities of troops and carrying out reality-based training with high quality and efficiency while standardizing their training grounds, compiling good operation documents, and building firm defensive areas.
The units’ chains of command were also asked to pay due attention to mass mobilization work, promote the role and participation of people in protecting security in border areas, and well perform defense external affairs, contributing to building a safe and strong locality and a peaceful borderline.
Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang and the delegation then checked the Moc Hoa Infantry Company (Kien Tuong town’s Military Command) and Binh Hiep International Border Gate Station.
Later in the afternoon, at his working sessions with Regiment 1 of Division 330 and Brigade 962 of Military Region 9, Deputy Minister of National Defense Phan Van Giang hailed their achievements in fulfilling their tasks and required them to exert more efforts to overcome difficulties to achieve the training goals, promote combat readiness, strictly observe regularity regulations and military discipline as well as prepare forces and facilities to participate in natural disaster control and search and rescue missions.
