Department of the Civil Self-Defense and Militia Forces receives noble awards
PANO - The Department of the Civil Self-Defense and Militia Forces under the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) held a ceremony on February 10 to mark the 70th anniversary of its traditional day and receive the first-class Fatherland Protection Order. Defense Minister General Ngo Xuan Lich attended and delivered a speech at the event.
Speaking at the event, the department's head Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Nguyen recalled the unit's 70-year tradition of construction, struggle and development. Accordingly, thousands of troops brought into play their spirit, bravery, and self-sufficiency, contributing to building the unit's resounding traditions of "loyalty, creativeness, solidarity and determination to win".

On behalf of the State President, General Lich pinned the noble order onto the unit's traditional flag. In his speech, the defense minister highly valued achievements made by the department in particular and the militia force in general. He underlined the Party's strategy of building a strong militia force as part of the art of people's warfare during the Vietnam's revolution.

He asked them to continue thoroughly grasping the Party's resolutions and guidelines in the field, while enhancing ideological and political education for troops, contributing to fulfilling their local military and defense tasks and providing strategic advice for the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense as well as deserving to the truth of the Party, State, army and people.
