Senior Lieutenant General Do Can (center) handing over the order to the Department of Information and Educaation

Authorized by the State President, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Politics Senior Lieutenant General Do Can handed over the first-class Independence Order to the unit in acknowledgment of its achievements in building the military and consolidating national defense.

According to Director of the Department of Information and Education Major General Nguyen Van Duc, in the first six months of this year, the information dissemination and political training work was comprehensively and effectively carried out in the whole military despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic. These achievements have contributed to enriching the tradition of Uncle Ho’s soldiers. Its outcomes in combating the COVID-19 pandemic were highly appreciated by the Party, State, people and international friends.

Reports delivered at the event also revealed that troops throughout the military have demonstrated their firm political stance and high resolve to fulfill all assigned missions.

Speaking at the event, General Can congratulated the Department of Information and Education on its achievements over the past 75 years and emphasized that this order acknowledges the contributions of the department’s staff over the past seven decades.

Regarding missions in the last half of the year, General Can asked the department to closely follow political situations, troops’ thoughts and public’s opinions, so as to make recommendations to higher levels to build a politically-strong military. The unit should also direct the combat against wrongful allegations to protect the ideological foundation of the Party.

He also urged the department to strictly observe regulations, effectively manage documents, and prevent wastefulness.
