After 28 months of construction, the components of the project have been largely completed according to the plan. The Vietnam Museum of Military History project is also an important initiative to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People's Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People National Defense Day, and the 80th founding anniversary of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People's Army.

Having inspected and been reported on the progress of the project, Gen. Giang highlighted the significance and scale of the project. He affirmed that it is a national-scale project, one of the leading museums in the national museum system, implemented by the GDP, and credited as one of their key projects in the current period by the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense (MND).

On behalf of the CMC and MND, he acknowledged and praised the GDP, the project management board, and the MND’s relevant agencies for their close cooperation, guidance, and regular supervision of the contractors to ensure that the project meets all set requirements and adheres to regulations. In spite of being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the agencies, units, and contractors effectively adapted their methods, ensuring the project's progress and quality.

To prepare for the reception of domestic and international visitors, Gen. Giang requested the GDP and the project owner to continue directing and urging contractors to complete all tasks according to the approved design; to organize trial runs of connected systems; to meticulously complete the technical, artistic, and quality aspects of the project; and to conduct testing before handing over and putting it into operation as regulated.
The defense chief noted some adjustment related to the display of outdoor and indoor artifacts, landscape decoration, and other issues concerning the introduction of military history and national history, contributing to turning the Vietnam Museum of Military History into an ideal destination for people from all walks of life.
Gen. Giang agreed with some major deadlines proposed by the project owner and management board, setting the goal to complete all on-site tasks, industrial cleaning, technical and aesthetic adjustments by the end of August 2024 to put it into operation in September 2024.
