Defense minister inspected technical work for weaponry and equipment
PANO – A mission of the Ministry of National Defense, led by General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo, Deputy-Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Minister of National Defense, inspected units of the Department of Weaponry and Equipment under the General Department of Techniques on September 10.

Senior Lieutenant General Be Xuan Truong, Deputy-Defense Minister, and Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Phuong Nam, Deputy-Chief of the General Staff, leadership of the General Department of Techniques and representatives of the defense ministry’s agencies joined the mission .
After undertaking fact-finding trips to Factory X264, Depot 850 and Depot 802, General Lich was briefed upon the task performance of the Department of Weaponry and Equipment during the first eight months of 2017. Over recent times, the Department comprehensively performed its missions, embracing orders from higher levels on managing weapons, equipment and ammunition, and delivering them to units in the whole army. The Department’s relevant units directed their troops to perform technical work, completely safeguard weapon depots and contribute to the fulfillment of their assigned missions.
Speaking at the meeting, General Lich appreciated highly the units’ achievements over the past time. He also asked them to uphold the values of solidarity and creativeness while overcoming hardships and building strong Party organizations and comprehensively strong units in line with the effective implementation of Campaign 50 (“Good, durable, and safe management of weapons and equipment and traffic safety”). In addition, the Defense Minister also urged them to collaborate closely with the local authorities, build civilian-military solidarity and cherish the lives of staff and employees.
