At the meeting reviewing technical work in 2016 and kicking off missions for 2017

Briefing upon the accomplishment of the technical work in 2016, Lieutenant General Le Quy Dam, Director of the General Department of Techniques, stressed that the whole army closely grasped resolutions and the direction of the Central Military Commission and the MND on the implementation of the technical work, earning practical results. The General Department of Techniques directed the sector to make proposals to Party committees and authorities of localities in providing technical service for units to carry out both scheduled and unscheduled missions.

The outstanding achievements of the sector include the provision of technical service for units in combat readiness maintenance, training and exercises on disaster consequence relief and search and rescue, and protection of national territory, border and maritime sovereignty. The whole army well carried out technical missions, meeting all set requirements while good results were recorded in training held for technical personnel, gradually improving the quality of the technical work.

As for Campaign 50 themed “Good, durable, and safe management of weapons and equipment and traffic safety”, in 2016 the whole army took various measures, achieving all four targets of the campaign, of which the technical target was reached increasing by 5 percent compared to 2015, saving more than VND 966 billion.

In 2017, the technical sector continues to grasp resolutions and direction of the Central Military Commission and the MND, especially programs and targets to realize Resolution 382 of the Central Military Commission on the “Leadership over the technical work in the new period.” The sector also focuses on well implementing the Instruction on the technical work of the MND with five key contents. Units and agencies in the whole army continue to further implement Campaign 50 with focus on the mastery and employment of new and existing weapons and technical equipment. The whole army is highly determined to reduce traffic accidents.
