Defense Minister chairs conference to review MND’s mission implementation in April
PANO - Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang, on April 27, chaired a conference to review task performance of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) in April.

The event was attended by Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) General Luong Cuong; Chief of the General Staff (GS) cum Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Tan Cuong; GS and GDP leaders, and representatives of the MND’s affiliated units.
This month, the Standing Committee of the Central Military Commission, MND has directed and instructed the whole military to accomplish all military and defense tasks. Units in the whole military have strictly maintained combat readiness and grasped situation so as to be ready in any circumstances, contributing to firmly protecting national sovereignty, ensuring political security and social safety in the whole nation.
In addition, MND leaders have also inspected the implementation of military and defense affairs as well as education and training work in some military schools. Military units have rolled out training mission in the first phase and ensured technical equipment to meet all task requirements and combat readiness.
The whole military has also promptly conducted political education and information dissemination, organized activities in response to the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in the military, among others.
Addressing the conference, General Phan Van Giang noted that in April, with high responsibility, chains-of-command at all levels, together with troops in the whole military, have well fulfilled all assigned missions with combat readiness ensured, and national sovereignty firmly protected. In addition, the Party and political work has been implemented effectively via various forms with good outcomes.
The defense minister also hailed combat readiness competence of troops during his recent inspection tours to several military units.
