Defense leaders extend New Year greetings to military units
PANO - A delegation of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, led by its Deputy Director, Lieutenant General Do Can visited and extended Tet (Lunar New Year) greetings to the Ben Tre provincial Military and Border Commands on January 20.
Having been briefed on the units' task performance last year and their preparations for upcoming Tet holiday, General Can praised their efforts and asked them to continue thoroughly grasping higher levels' resolutions, particularly realizing the fourth Resolution of the 12th Party Central Committee, and strictly maintaining high combat readiness. In addition, he urged units to ensure a happy, safe and economical Tet holiday for their staff while promoting combat readiness posture to timely handle any circumstances.

The same day, General Can met with representatives of the units of the General Department of Politics in Can Tho City. At the meeting, the deputy director praised the units' efforts in overcoming difficulties last year and asked them to continue to collaborate with relevant units of Military Region 9 and local authorities to promptly and effectively disseminate information relating to the socio-economic development in the area and task performance of the local armed forces.

* As part of the visit to military units in the Central region, on January 20, Major General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics visited Tam Thanh Border Station of the Quang Nam provincial Border Command and the border stations of Dung Quat and Sa Ky ports of the Quang Ngai provincial Border Command.

General Van acknowledged and applauded the units' achievements over the past year, especially in fulfilling assigned tasks and in carrying out search and rescue missions. On the occasion of upcoming Tet holidays, the senior officer asked them to strictly implement Party and political work, maintain high combat readiness, and closely collaborate with local authorities to deal with unexpected issues, contributing to ensuring political security and social order in the area.
