Over the past years, the unit has actively and proactively given advice to the Ministry of National Defense on enhancing capabilities, ensuring chemical warfare for troops, and meeting combat requirements and other unexpected tasks.
The command has directed its affiliated units to strictly observe the regulations of combat readiness, participate in search and rescue, and ensure security at important political and cultural events of the country.
The chemical units disposed of more than 256 tons of chemical ammunition and toxic chemicals, participated in anti-terrorist exercises with the Commando Corps, and successfully handled a fire incident at the Rang Dong light bulb warehouse.
The command has also asked its affiliated units to effectively conduct disinfection to aid localities in COVID-19 prevention and control. Their efforts have been praised and highly appreciated by the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and people.
Speaking at the event, Gen. Vinh highly appreciated the unit’s achievements in recent years. He asked the unit to embrace the Party’s guidelines, State’s policies and laws, and the Central Military Commission’s resolutions on military and defense missions.
They should strictly follow combat readiness regulations, carry out search and rescue missions, and coordinate with other forces to ensure security and safety for the upcoming 13th National Party Congress.
The unit was also requested to closely watch issues related to chemistry, biology, radiation and nuclear in the region, promptly give advice to the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense on measures to prevent weapons of mass destruction, and respond to incidents related to chemistry, biology and radiation.
In addition, the unit was asked to raise the quality of training, become proficient at modern equipment, fix shortcomings, and regularly conduct training courses to deal with radiation and nuclear situations.
