The activity was on the occasion of the 51st anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2026) and the 72nd anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 - 2026).

In a solemn and respectful atmosphere, Gen. Cuong and the delegation offered incense in tribute to former Party General Secretary Le Kha Phieu, former State President Le Duc Anh, former Politburo members and former Defense Ministers General Vo Nguyen Giap, General Van Tien Dung, General Doan Khue, and General Phung Quang Thanh, and former Chiefs of the General Staff and former Deputy Defense Ministers General Le Trong Tan and General Hoang Van Thai, and former Deputy Director of the National Defense Academy Lieutenant General Nguyen Hai Bang.

The defense leader and the delegation expressed deep gratitude for their great contribution and dedication to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation, and to military building, defense consolidation, and Fatherland protection.

During the conversations with the family members of these former leaders, Gen. Cuong inquired after their health and living conditions, and wished them to continue carrying forward their family traditions and contributing their efforts and wisdom to building an increasingly prosperous and civilized country.

During his visit to former Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Lieutenant General, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces Dang Quan Thuy, Gen. Cuong hoped that the former leader would continue paying attention to, monitoring, and contributing valuable and heartfelt opinions to help build a stronger military capable of excellently fulfilling tasks entrusted by the Party, the State, and the people.
