Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Tran Don speaks at the meeting.

He added that in a short time, the military has prepared more than 100 facilities and train personnel to get ready for the quarantine of people returning from China and that the military’s role in epidemic preventive work and countering false information on the epidemic has been recognized by the Government.

The military should consider nCoV prevention an important combat mission, urging all units to engage in the work, he said.

He also urged military units to intensify communication to provide the public with full, accurate and objective information on the epidemic situation.

As reported by head of the Military Medical Department Major General Nguyen Xuan Kien, as of February 6 morning, all military units had set up their own steering boards on epidemic prevention. Plans to receive and quarantine Vietnamese nationals returning from China and other countries have been designed while mobile military medical teams and seven field hospitals with 2,800 beds stay ready on request.

Kien said that so far there have been no nCoV-infected cases in the military.
