At the event, the defense leader was reported that the hospital is the first military medical unit to operate five smart medical kiosks to facilitate patients’ check-in, check-out and access to other health services, using chip-based ID cards and QR codes on VNeID application. Patient’s medical records are shared among social insurance agencies at all levels. The hospital also encourages cashless payment.

Additionally, it is among 12 units to pilot servicemen’s e-health records. Moreover, it has organized many workshops to collect opinions and seek approaches to build a smart hospital.

Addressing the meeting, Gen. Vinh emphasized that apart from obtained achievements, there remain things to do to meet the set requirements. He requested Command 86 to work with relevant agencies to review missions and projects on information technology (IT) and digital transformation at military hospitals to add to the digital transformation project of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) for the 2026-2030 period.

He urged the command to report to the MND on the implementation of a safe connection portal solution in which data is transmitted between civilian and military networks to serve health examination and treatment for patients.

The defense leader also laid stress on e-signatures for e-medical records at military hospitals. He asked the GDLT to direct the Department of Military Medicine to conduct assessment of outcome of hospitals and their shortcomings during task performance to report to the MND.

Related agencies and units were also urged to coordinate closely, conduct surveys and assessments of IT infrastructure, human resources of military hospitals in the entire military to have timely investment.
