Defense leader inspects Army Corps 16
PANO – A delegation of the Ministry of National Defense, led by Major General Ngo Minh Tien, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, paid a visit to Army Corps 16 on February 21.
At the working session, Major General Pham Ngoc Tuan, Commander of Army Corps 16, briefed the delegation on the Corps’ task performance over the past time. Accordingly, the unit thoroughly grasped and seriously implemented directives of the Chief of the General Staff, well performed military and defense missions, and contributed significantly to socio-economic development of the stationed area.

Additionally, it promoted collaboration with the local authorities at all levels, sent troops to support people in implementing hunger elimination and poverty reduction programs, he added.
Speaking at the event, General Tien highly valued efforts of the unit’s troops and workers, especially in promoting friendship, security, and social order in the Vietnamese area along the borderline between Vietnam and Cambodia.
However, he urged the unit’s leadership to maintain training missions and combat readiness, manage their stationed area, and assist ethnic minorities and policy beneficiaries to improve their lives.
