Conference discusses preparations for GDP’s 80th founding anniversary
PANO - On November 28, Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), chaired a conference in Hanoi to discuss preparations for the ceremony to celebrate the 80th founding anniversary of the GDP (December 22, 1944–2024) and to receive the First-class Independence Order.
In line with the plan approved by the Minister of National Defense for commemorating the GDP’s foundation day, relevant agencies and units have actively developed and implemented plans for various activities. To date, preparations for 21 out of 30 activities have been completed on schedule.

To ensure that the anniversary’s activities proceed as planned and achieve good outcomes, agencies and units will continue to fulfill the remaining preparation tasks, including organizing an exhibition on the GDP's history and the role of the Party and political work in the military. Other activities include compiling Volume 3 of the book about the GDP’s history from 2014 to 2024, displaying books and publications on the GDP's history and its Party and political activities, broadcasting the traditional documentary film themed "Steadfast under the Party’s flag" on television channels and social media platforms, and providing free health consultancy and medicines in a “return-to-the-root” program in Dinh Hoa district, Thai Nguyen province. Additionally, there will be a gathering for generations of GDP personnel in Hanoi and the main ceremony to mark the GDP’s 80th founding anniversary and to receive the First-class Independence Order.

Speaking at the conference, Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh commended agencies and units for overcoming challenges and closely coordinating to complete the assigned tasks according to the plan. He instructed them to continue close collaboration, monitoring, and adjustments to ensure that all scheduled activities are conducted efficiently. He also emphasized the need for media outlets to enhance information dissemination to raise public awareness about the GDP's contribution to the national revolutionary casue and the military’s development.
Lieutenant General Minh directed agencies and units to carefully coordinate and develop comprehensive plans to ensure the success and safety of the anniversary’s activities, particularly the commemorative programs and the main ceremony.
