In the first half of this year, the coast guard force has strictly maintained combat readiness status at all levels and closely followed situations and given timely recommendations to the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense to deal with arising issues at sea in an effective manner.

Meanwhile, the force has closely coordinated with other forces to implement efforts to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing; mobilized ships and troops to conduct search and rescue operations; and carried out three campaigns against crime and legal violations, among others.
In his speech, Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien applauded the outstanding achievements obtained by the coast guard force in the first six months of this year. In the time to come, Gen. Chien required the force to continue to coordinate with other forces to effectively implement the task of protecting national sovereignty, law enforcement, and smuggling and trade fraud combat; protect oil and gas exploration activities; and make good preparations for search and rescue plans, to name but a few.

The force should promote breakthroughs in science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, administrative reform, and the "Digital Literacy Movement" in the whole force, as well as strictly and effectively enforce the "Four anti's" policy.
At the event, Sr. Lt. Gen. Hoang Xuan Chien handed over the Second-class Feat-of-Arms Order to the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Second-class Fatherland Protection Order to Major General Vu Trung Kien, Second-in-Command of the Vietnam Coast Guard Command.
