PANO – On the morning of April 18th, ship 9002, under the Region 2 Coast Guard Command, towed troubled boat QNg 98614TS ashore from the waters of Da Bac island, Hoang Sa (Paracel) island of Vietnam.

At 10am on April 13th, the troubled boat captained by fisherman Tran Duc from Duc Pho district, Quang Ngai province, drifted due to engine failure. Eight fisherman were aboard the drifting boat. After three days of trying to fix the problem, the troubled boat sent a mayday signal.
On receiving the news, the command sent ship 9002 into action to rescue the troubled boat.
In an unrelated incident, on April 13th at 10.30am, a fisherman on boat QNg 94899TS was in a deep coma after a sudden stroke, while the boat was about 158 nautical miles south-southeast of Nha Trang. Receiving the news, ship KN 414 from fisheries surveillance team 4 immediately rushed to the scene to save the distressed fisherman.
