The event was chaired by General Ngo Xuan Lich, member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the CMC, and Minister of National Defense.

Speaking at the event, General Lich spoke highly of the leadership of the Party Committee of Military Region 4 and stressed that the unit has closely followed higher levels’ instructions on organizing Party congresses at all levels towards the 13th National Party Congress. He underscored that the region’s Party organizations seriously conducted their congresses as scheduled and in line with the set targets. The region’s Party Committee collaborated with the local Party Committees to fulfill all military-defense tasks and successfully organize Party congresses at all levels.

To prepare for its 9th Party Congress, the military region’s Party Committee has made reports and documents with specific evaluations of achievements and shortcomings.

The defense minister laid stress on the significant and strategic position of the military region and asked its leadership to grasp all situations and implement mass mobilization. They should also contribute to economic development by maintaining political stability and social order. General Lich went on to say that the region’s Party Committee should embrace the review report issued by the General Department of Politics and opinions of relevant agencies at the conference to complete its draft papers while enhancing information dissemination and promoting the emulation drive in celebration of the upcoming Party Congress.

* The same day, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Nghia, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the CMC and Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP), chaired a meeting reviewing the preparation for the 9th Congress of the Party Organization of the Chemical Corps.

The review report issued by the GDP at the event praised efforts of the corps’ Party Committee in preparation for its upcoming Party Congress. Particularly, they have made concrete draft reports, selected qualified personnel, and completed other preparation for the congress.

Addressing the meeting, General Nghia acknowledged the unit’s outcomes and asked them to continue maintaining a firm political stance for Party members and troops as well as complete draft documents for its Party congress.
