The event was co-chaired by Phan Dinh Trac, Politburo member, member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee (PCC), and Chairman of the PCC’s Commission for Internal Affairs and General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Vice Secretary of the CMC and Minister of National Defense.
A representative from the CMC delivered a report on the results of implementing the task of building the whole people’s defense posture and protecting Fatherland during the 13th National Party Congress.
Particularly, the CMC and the Ministry of National Defense (MND) have always performed well their strategic advisory role to the Party and State on military and defense affairs, pro-actively grasped and made accurate forecast of situations to address contingencies in a timely manner. In addition, they have researched, developed, and proposed the promulgation of strategies and projects, contributing to perfecting the guidelines and policies on military and defense affairs.

Attentively, under the CMC’s direction, the military has promoted its key role in building the whole people’s defense posture, firmly protecting the country’s independence, sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, upholding a peaceful and stable environment for national development. Moreover, the whole military’s synergy, combat readiness capability have been raised while training has been innovated in an elite, compact and strong direction. The military has played the key role in disaster and disease prevention and control, search and rescue, hunger elimination and poverty reduction, new-style rural area building. Other achievements of the military include comprehensive development of the defense industry, intensive and effective defense relations work, contributing to safeguarding the Fatherland early and from afar and raising position and prestige of the country and military in the international arena.
In terms of Military Party Organization building in the 2020-2025 period, the Military Party Organization has synchronously carried out ten tasks and solutions on Party building.

At the meeting, Trac highly appreciated the Military Party Organization for its great efforts and achievements in leading and directing the performance of military and defense missions, bringing about good results in socio-economic, cultural and defense relations development in strategic areas, firm defensive area building, effective international integration and defense relations work, better Party building and rectification, maintenance of the Party’s absolute and direction leadership over all aspects.
The working mission noted proposals from the CMC and MND to report to the leaders of the two subcommittees.
