Brigade 229 effectively performs training and combat readiness missions
PANO - On October 7, a mission from the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by its Deputy Chief Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Nghia, checked the task performance of Brigade 229 of the Engineer Corps since the beginning of this year.

During the period, the brigade embraced and carried out higher levels’ directives, resolutions, orders, and functional agencies’ instructions. It also actively and proactively overcame difficulties, comprehensively implemented aspects of work, and completed all routine and unscheduled assignments. Meanwhile, the unit’s combat readiness ability, training quality, regular force building, and military discipline observance showed improvement. In addition, it ensured logistic, technical, and financial services for missions.
In the year, the brigade hosted numerous training courses to improve its troops’ professional expertise as well.
Concluding the inspection, General Nghia highly valued Brigade 229’s achievements and urged it to continue to strictly observe the regulations of combat readiness, search and rescue, and ensure security at important political and cultural events of the country.
The unit was also asked to raise the quality of training, master assigned equipment, fix shortcomings, improve healthcare for troops, and ensure technical services for weapons and equipment for training and other missions.
