Border troops carry out patrol despite harsh weather
PANO - In freezing cold weather in border areas in Ha Giang province, local border guards have overcome difficulties to implement patrol along the borderline.
According to Lung Cu Border Station, over the past days, it has been raining and freezing cold with limited visibility. On February 20, the temperature dropped to -1oC, and the weather was colder especially in the afternoon.
Despite the harsh weather conditions, the border post directed its troops at checkpoints to both keep warm while maintaining combat readiness and patrol in order to protect national sovereignty over border areas.
In Meo Vac district, on the early morning of February 20, the temperature dropped to -2oC, causing frost on all over the mountains. In addition to mobilizing troops to conduct patrol, ensure security and social order in the areas, leaders of Xin Cai Border Post and Secretary of Meo Vac district’s Party Committee Vuong Ngoc Ha inspected cold prevention for livestock in Thuong Phung commune, Meo Vac district.
According to the weather forecast, the northern region and north-central Thanh Hoa province will see rains and experience biting cold until February 22. The mercury will drop to 8 - 11oC at the lowest, even 3 - 6oC or lower in mountainous areas where snow rains may appear.
