Border guards fight human trafficking
PANO –Border Guard units have carried out a campaign to fight human trafficking along the border line, announced the Border Guard Command recently.
Border guard units held nearly 13,000 meetings to disseminate information to over 373,000 people, posted over 1,000 news items and articles on mass media, and delivered leaflets to border households.
In addition, they conducted 48 operations, captured 18 human trafficking criminals, and rescued 34 victims.
According to relevant forces, the activities of cross-border human trafficking are increasingly sophisticated in multiple forms.
Therefore, the border guards will enhance information dissemination to raise locals’ awareness of and mobilize them to actively contribute to the prevention and control of human trafficking in border areas.
