Border guards bust up a trans-national drug-trafficking ring
PANO - The Drug Enforcement Unit under the Tay Ninh Border Guard, in conjunction with the Moc Bai International Border Gate’s Border Post, seized 1 kg of methamphetamine (ICE), and arrested three drug traffickers, including a Vietnamese-Australian, his elder brother and a driver, for illegally entering Vietnam from Cambodia.
PANO - The Drug Enforcement Unit under the Tay Ninh Border Guard, in conjunction with the Moc Bai International Border Gate’s Border Post, seized 1 kg of methamphetamine (ICE), and arrested three drug traffickers, including a Vietnamese-Australian, his elder brother and a driver, for illegally entering Vietnam from Cambodia.
Having searched drug traffickers’ houses in Ho Chi Minh City, the Drug Enforcement Unit and the Ministry of Public Security arrested three more suspects, a 46-year-old Vietnamese-American, a kingpin of the drug trafficking ring from Cambodia to Vietnam and a third country, aged 21, from Ben Tre Province, and another from Tien Giang Province.
Nearly 1kg of heroin, 30 methamphetamine tablets, 1 automobile, 3 motorbikes and other related documents were also confiscated during the arrest.
The case is under further investigation.
