* On March 2, the Ho Chi Minh City Border Guard Command, in association with the city’s Youth Union, held a ceremony to honor young outstanding border guards.
The honorees are border officers and soldiers, who are also in charge of Youth Union work, with outstanding achievements in combating crimes, well managing immigration regulations, taking the lead in reforming administrative procedures at border gates, joining hands in search and rescue missions, participating in social welfare programs, and closely working with local authorities to improve people’s living standards.
Earlier, the delegates offered incense, laid flowers, and reported their achievements to President Ho Chi Minh at the President Ho Chi Minh Statue Park in District 1.
On this occasion, from March 2 to 7, a photo exhibition showcasing task performances of the city’s border guard force is held at the Youth Cultural House (No.4 Pham Ngoc Thach Street, Ben Nghe ward, District 1).
* On the same day, the Binh Dinh provincial People’s Committee organized a meeting on the occasion of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Border Guard.
Over the past years, the local border guard force has played the main role in building a firm whole people's border guard posture. They also mobilized resources to build 221 houses of gratitude for policy beneficiaries and needy comrades, and four public facilities on border areas with total cost of VND 10.5 billion.
* The Border Guard Academy has hosted a culinary contest for its cooks with two categories of theory and practice, as part of the school’s activities to celebrate their traditional day.
