Border guard commands work together in border management
PANO – On May 11, the Border Guard Commands of Dien Bien, Son La and Lai Chau provinces jointly held a conference in Dien Bien city to promote their coordination in border management.
Accordingly, since 2019, the three border guard commands have promptly shared information, made recommendations to higher levels, and addressed issues arising in border areas in accordance with their inked agreement and State laws.
They also coordinated in joint border patrols, discussed situations of borderline and border markers as well as fought crimes, diseases, and carried out search and rescue activities, contributing to ensuring safety and order in border areas.
Their affiliated border posts also exchanged 15 reports on border management and national sovereignty protection and conducted 18 joint patrols with the participation of more than 200 troops and militiamen.
In addition, the units attached much importance to preventing illegal travel in border areas, promptly detecting and handling legal violations, and maintaining local security. These are just some of the examples of how the units contribute to defending the national sovereignty.
Besides, the units also closely worked with the functional forces of Laos and China to call for the participation of local residents in border management, contributing to building a shared borderline of peace and friendship.
In 2020, following the directions from higher levels in border management, these border guard commands will focus on instructing affiliated units to build up master plans to fulfill their assigned tasks.
