The event was part of the activities to mark the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army (December 22, 1944 – 2024), the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the General Department of Political Affairs (December 22, 1944 – 2024), and 35 years of the Whole-People’s Defense Festive Day (December 22, 1989 – 2024).
Defense Minister General Phan Van Giang, Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang, Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, Vice National Assembly Chairman Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong and other delegates from different ministries, agencies, and units attended the event.

The program contributed to affirming importance of party, political, and ideological work, which is described as the "soul and lifeblood" and is the culmination of patriotism, revolutionary heroism, and communist ideals throughout the heroic journey of the Vietnam People’s Army. It also highlighted the noble image of Uncle Ho's soldiers born by the people and working for the people. These ideals shine like bright stars in the minds and hearts of soldiers, symbolizing justice, sacrifice, and the solemn oath under the sacred national flag and the “Determined to Win” military flag.

Featuring outstanding artistic performances and documentaries, “The Soldier’s Star” evoked powerful emotions of pride and admiration while honoring the political and spiritual strength of the Vietnam People’s Army. Over its 80-year journey, under the sound leadership of the Party, the Vietnam People’s Army has continuously grown and matured, ensuring its power to fulfill the mission of safeguarding the nation's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while securing peace for the country.
Generations of officers and soldiers who are outstanding children of the nation have carried forward the glorious tradition of the heroic Vietnam People’s Army. They have stayed unwaveringly loyal to the nation, the Party, the State, the people, and socialism, earning their place as the trusted pillar of the Party, the State, and the people in all circumstances. They have upheld their steadfast oath under the nation’s glorious flag, building and protecting a strong, sustainable, and enduring Vietnam.
