According to reports at the conference, in 2026, military academies and schools will continue implementing the regular military university and college enrollment project for the 2023-2030 period and beyond. Admissions were conducted through four methods, an increase of one compared to 2025, with the addition of admissions based on the results of the competency assessment exam organized by the Ministry of National Defense.
The total admission score comprises three components: the candidate’s score in the national high school graduation exam or the competency assessment exam; bonus points (including reward points, consideration points, and encouragement points); and priority points based on candidates’ status.

During the implementation process, the Military Enrollment Board of the Ministry of National Defense, military enrollment boards at all levels, admission councils of military schools, and relevant agencies and units successfully fulfilled the 2026 enrollment tasks. Schools organized the enrollment process strictly and objectively, ensuring fairness and transparency on their websites and mass media.
Delivering his remarks at the event, General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested relevant agencies of the Ministry of National Defense to finalize the benchmark regulations for military academies and schools. These regulations must be issued and publicly announced on mass media in accordance with the timeline stipulated by the Ministry of Education and Training. He directed schools to continue thoroughly reviewing admission data to ensure absolute accuracy before announcing the benchmarks and successful candidates.
Furthermore, military schools must send enrollment notices to admitted candidates following the regulations of the Military Enrollment Board of the Ministry of National Defense, and organize strict, timely health re-examinations for enrolling candidates. He also ordered the post-auditing of the enrollment work and the selection of admitted candidates to be sent for training abroad or at non-military schools, ensuring they meet all standards and regulations set by the Ministry of National Defense.
Additionally, military schools should enhance educational efforts to build trust, a positive attitude, and a sense of responsibility among candidates right from their enrollment. They should diversify extracurricular activities to leave an impression on candidates and their families from day one; while pro-actively surveying, evaluating, and comparing the quality of admitted candidates across the 2026 enrollment methods. Units, localities, academies, and schools must proactively organize reviews of the 2026 enrollment work, map out tasks for 2027, and continue coordinating with press agencies inside and outside the military to boost the dissemination of information about enrollment in military schools.
