Recently, military schools have pro-actively integrated information technology (IT) and digital transformation knowledge into their curricula. Server rooms have been basically invested in, with 100% equipped with information security solutions. The military data transmission network and internet infrastructure have been synchronously deployed to the command headquarters of agencies, faculties, boards, departments, and units.

Military schools have also effectively utilized simulation systems and software deployed by the Defense Ministry while focusing on investing in “smart school” criteria. Many instructors are now proficient in using IT and artificial intelligence (AI) in their teaching.

Simultaneously, scientific research and technical improvement initiatives have been promoted, yielding many highly valuable products for practical application in training and education. Strong and in-depth research groups have well upheld their core roles. The digitization of military enrollment and policy records has been basically completed.

Concluding the conference, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien acknowledged and highly valued the efforts of functional agencies and schools in applying technology, which has contributed to improving the quality of education and training.

Regarding upcoming tasks, the Deputy Defense Minister requested functional agencies to continue supporting military schools in ensuring data security, upgrading the speed of the military network, and enhancing the capacity of research groups. They were also urged to guide the implementation of the Smart Military School Criteria Set and organize training courses to improve IT skills and the ability to utilize AI in teaching and school administration.

An overview of the conference

For military schools, he directed them to concretize higher levels’ resolutions. He emphasized the need to foster personnel eligible for doctoral studies and in-depth training in IT and digital transformation. Schools must centralize their server rooms and connect training management systems with QiMe specialized messaging and social networking app. In particular, a roadmap must be developed to bring all school activities into the digital environment, striving for 100% of instructors and educational managers to meet digital competency standards and apply AI effectively.

Furthermore, military schools should accelerate compilation of IT teaching materials and deploy models such as smart pedagogy, smart classrooms, AI-based combat simulation, and AI-assisted decision-making systems. Meanwhile, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Hien also stressed the requirement to create the most favorable environment to encourage young officers and instructors to actively engage in scientific research and innovation.
