During the search, the SAR forces under the leadership of Deputy Chief of the General Staff Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh also zoned off the main area where the landslide occurred and raced against time to search for the victims. Other units are also opening the way to Rao Trang 3 Hydropower Plant.

Earlier on the same morning, the Ministry of National Defense held an online meeting, under the chair of Chief of the General Staff Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, connecting with the on-site SAR command post.

During the virtual meeting, General Giang directed the Engineer Corps, Military Region 4 and relevant forces to coordinate closely with the Ministry of Transport and the People’s Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province, mobilize maximum vehicles, equipment and forces, and strive to find all of the victims of the landslide. He also requested that the SAR forces pay special attention to ensuring safety for personnel and equipment during SAR missions.
