At the event, delegates and war veterans in the province reviewed the glorious tradition of the Vietnam People's Army and the armed forces of Son La province, as well as affirmed the achievements in building a national defense posture.
On the occasion, under the authorization of the State President, the province's leadership presented the first-, second-, and third-class Fatherland Protection Orders to 20 individuals with their outstanding achievements in training and task performance.
More than 200 gifts were presented to retired officers in the province.
* The Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee of Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi, also held a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of the Whole People's Defense Festive Day and the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA). On the occasion, 58 individuals were awarded the first-, second-, and third-class Fatherland Protection Orders by the State President for their outstanding results and great contributions to the cause of national construction and defense.
* The authorities of Le Chan district, Hai Phong city held a ceremony to present the title of “Heroic Vietnamese Mother” to 5 women and a gathering to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Whole People's Defense Festive Day and the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA).
Over the past years, the district's armed forces have always promoted the tradition of Uncle Ho's soldiers, and the building of the district as one of the leading localities in defense and socio-economic development.
* On the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Whole People's Defense Festive Day and the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), the Museum of Military History opened an exhibition to introduce nearly 300 documents, images, and artifacts reflecting military-civilian ties during the cause of national liberation and Fatherland’s protection.
* The Border Guard Academy held a military sports festival 2019 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Whole People's Defense Festive Day and the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA) on Dec. 17 in Hanoi.
The festival saw the participation of nearly 500 military athletes, who will compete in 8 events.
The festival will conclude on December 20.
* Military Region 7 held a sports festival with the participation of more than 300 troops from 24 military units and agencies.
The event aims to evaluate physical training and sports movements of the units, and improve troops’ l fitness.
The festival will run till December 21.
