Vietnamese officers to be dispatched to U.N. peacekeeping missions
PANO – The General Department of Logistics held a ceremony on December 28, under the chair of its Political Commissar Major General Do Van Thien, to hand over decisions and assign tasks to its troops who will undertake duties at U.N. peacekeeping missions.
According to decisions of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) and Department of Military Personnel of the General Staff, 18 officers from the Department of Military Medicine, Department of Transportation, Military Hospitals 354 and 105 under the General Department of Logistics will be dispatched to the Level-two Field Hospital (L2FH) Rotation 4 under the Military Medical Academy to prepare for their tasks at a U.N. peacekeeping mission.

Congratulating the peacekeeping officers, General Thien urged them to promote the heroic traditions of the Vietnam People’s Army and the General Department of Logistics and overcome difficulties to fulfill all assigned missions.
On behalf of the newly-assigned peacekeepers, Major Pham Van Hung from the Military Institute of Preventive Medicine under the Department of Military Medicine expressed his honor and pledged to promote solidarity, continue enriching knowledge, and strictly observe military discipline and State laws while undertaking missions at the L2FH Rotation 4.
