Vietnamese, Indian young officers hold talks

Speaking at the talks, Major Nishant Jhobta, head of the Indian delegation of young officers, expressed his delight at visiting Vietnam, a beautiful country with many famous landscapes and the traditions of national protection and construction. In the overall good traditional relationship, defense cooperation is an important pillar in the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and India.

Over the past time, the two countries’ young officers have had many opportunities to exchange and share experience on defense and military activities, contributing to creating favorable conditions for boosting a close connection between young officers of the two countries. Major Nishant Jhobta hoped that in the time to come, young officers would have more chances to enhance and promote the close relationship, mutual understanding, contributing significantly to promoting the bilateral defense cooperation.

For his part, Colonel Nguyen Quang Huy, Deputy Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board, shared that the Indian young officers’ visit to Vietnam held important significance, as the country is ready to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the foundation day of the Vietnam People’s Army, the 35th anniversary of the Whole-People Defense Festive Day, and the GDP’s 80th anniversary of the foundation day.

He also affirmed the important role of such talks for young officers in exchanging experience during their task performance, making contribution to heightening mutual understanding and solidarity.

At the talks, the two sides agreed to further boost education and dissemination for Vietnamese and Indian youths and young officers on the importance of fostering the traditional relations between the two countries and militaries; preventing and effectively dealing with all hostile plots to divide the solidarity between the two countries and militaries; and regularly organizing practical exchanges and talks to strengthen relations between the two countries’ young officers.
