The Ghana’s Infantry Battalion is tasked with operations in the Southern sector of the UNISFA area of responsibility. Rumamier, located 35 kilometers south of the Highway base, serves as the temporary deployment location for this unit. However, due to the challenging terrains, during the rainy season, nearly all roads and camps in this area are inundated, making movement impossible. In light of this situation, UNISFA has requested enhanced military presence in the area, organizing a force of 55 personnel on permanent duty. Vietnam’s Engineering Company Rotation 2 has been tasked with constructing a sturdy base for the Ghanaian unit.
